Most UK prize draws sell tens of thousands of tickets, which puts a single entry somewhere around 1 in 50,000. The competitions below are the opposite: capped pools of a few hundred or a few thousand tickets, ordered by the fewest tickets first. Every row also carries its Value Ratio, because short odds on an overpriced ticket is not a bargain.

One listing above is marked Sponsored. It is a paid placement, added to the list rather than ranked within it — the ranking itself is calculated from live data and is not for sale. How sponsorship works.

Max odds = 1 in the total ticket allocation (if it sells out). Current odds = 1 in the tickets sold so far, a live snapshot that assumes the winner is drawn from entries sold — always check each operator's draw terms. A “—” means we don't have live sales data for that draw yet.

What a ticket costs, and what it buys

Across the 511 live low odds competitions we rank, this is how ticket price and value line up right now. The median Value Ratio is the honest comparison — lower means more of your money is going into the prize rather than the operator's margin.

Ticket priceLive drawsMedian Value RatioShortest odds in band
Under £11442.271 in 129
£1 – £2.502202.811 in 80
£2.51 – £5622.351 in 99
£5.01 – £10232.001 in 85
Over £10622.001 in 35

Best value on average right now is the £5.01 – £10 band, at a median ratio of 2.00 across 23 live draws. That is a snapshot, not a rule — a single well-priced draw in a worse band still beats a poorly-priced one in this one, which is what the ranking above is for.

Short odds and good value are different things

A draw with 300 tickets gives you 1 in 300 — genuinely good odds by the standards of this market. But if those tickets are £20 each, the operator is taking £6,000 for a £2,500 prize, and you are paying heavily for the privilege. Read the two columns together: the odds tell you your chance, the Value Ratio tells you what that chance costs. The best rows on this page are short on both.

Why small pools exist

Low-ticket draws are usually either a smaller operator without the audience to shift 50,000 entries, or a deliberately capped “low odds” product priced higher per ticket to compensate. Both are legitimate, and both are far better bets than a penny raffle with a quarter of a million entries — see competitions under £1 for the other side of that trade.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a low odds competition?
Anything with a small capped ticket allocation — we list live UK draws with 5,000 tickets or fewer, ordered shortest odds first. Many are under 1,000 tickets, which puts a single entry at better than 1 in 1,000 against a market where 1 in 50,000 is typical.
Which UK competition has the best odds of winning?
The top row of the table above, refreshed hourly: it is the live draw with the fewest tickets in its allocation across every operator we track. Bear in mind the shortest-odds draw is not automatically the best value — check the Value Ratio column beside it.
Are low odds competitions more expensive to enter?
Usually, yes. An operator funding a prize from 500 tickets rather than 50,000 has to charge roughly a hundred times more per ticket. That is why every row here shows the Value Ratio: it tells you whether the higher ticket price is proportionate to the prize or simply a bigger margin.
Do my odds improve if the draw does not sell out?
On most UK competitions, yes — if the operator draws from tickets actually sold rather than the full allocation. The current odds column shows that live figure where we have sales data. Always confirm in the operator’s terms, as some draw from the full allocation regardless.
How often does this ranking update?
Hourly, across every UK operator we track. Closed and sold-out draws drop off automatically.
