Cookie Policy
Last Updated: 25 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies CompetitionShowroom Ltd uses on https://competitionshowroom.com (the "Service"), why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Non-essential cookies are only set after you have given consent through our cookie banner, as required by the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits, store preferences, and collect information about how the site is used. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels) work in comparable ways and are covered by the same consent rules.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Essential (always on)
Required for the Service to function — for example, recording your cookie preferences so we don't ask you again on every page load, and basic security and load-balancing cookies. These do not require consent under PECR.
Analytics (consent required)
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) to measure aggregate use of the Service — pages viewed, traffic sources, session duration. The Google Analytics tag is only loaded after you accept analytics cookies. Typical cookies set include _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics, expire after up to 2 years).
Marketing (consent required, off by default)
We do not currently run paid advertising campaigns from the Service. If we add them in future, marketing cookies (for example Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta Pixel) will be loaded only if you have accepted the marketing category in our cookie banner.
Third-party affiliate / outbound tracking
When you click a link from our Service to a third-party operator we may pass affiliate / referral parameters in the URL. The destination site (and any affiliate network such as Awin) may then set their own cookies on your device under their own privacy and cookie policies. We have no control over those cookies — please review the destination site's policies if you have questions.
3. Managing your preferences
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies at any time via the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and you can revisit your choices at any time by clearing your cookies for our domain and reloading the Service, or by emailing legal@competitionshowroom.com.
Most web browsers also let you block or delete cookies via their settings. To learn more, visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Service from working.
4. Consent records
We keep a log of consent events (consent given, declined, or changed) for up to 24 months as an audit trail under UK GDPR accountability requirements. See our Privacy Policy for full retention details and your rights.
