Value Ratio and odds diverge sharply here

Carp fishing bundles dominate the top of this category, and they are frequently sold as a million-plus tickets at a penny each. That can produce an excellent Value Ratio — under 2.0 is common — while leaving you at roughly one in a million on a single ticket. A £600 golf bundle sold as 1,500 tickets at 60p is a completely different proposition at the same ratio. Read both columns together.

Golf clubs and bundles, angling tackle and bivvy setups, padel and tennis rackets, home gym and weights, climbing and bouldering kit, and cycling gear — anything categorised as sports equipment with a live draw.

Frequently asked questions

Which UK competition is best for winning golf clubs?
The table above ranks live sports equipment competitions by Value Ratio and shows the odds for each. Golf bundles typically run much smaller ticket pools than fishing draws, so they often offer far shorter odds at a similar ratio.
Why do carp fishing competitions have such long odds?
They are usually sold as very large ticket pools — often hundreds of thousands or over a million entries — at 1p to 10p per ticket. The total revenue still lines up sensibly against the prize value, so the Value Ratio looks strong, but any single ticket has a very small chance. The odds column shows this directly.
Are sports equipment competitions good value?
Often yes, because clubs, rackets and tackle have transparent market prices that are hard to inflate. A Value Ratio near 1.5–2.5 is good; higher means the operator is taking a larger slice.
