Win a Seriously Fast 1962 Lambretta Li 225 TS1 – Old-School CutdownThis is definitely not your average classic Lambretta.Up for grabs is this 1962 Lambretta Li, transformed into a fantastic old-school cutdown and fitted with a seriously impressive 225cc Taffspeed TS1 performance engine setup.Built with performance firmly in mind and described by its previous owner as having been put together without expense spared, this is a proper enthusiast's scooter. From the exposed mechanicals and cutdown bodywork to the chrome detailing and deep purple finish, it has a distinctive old-school custom look.At the heart of the build is the 225 Taffspeed TS1 setup, breathing through a 35mm Mikuni flat-slide carburettor with Boyesen reed-valve conversion and exiting through a Fresco old-school expansion pipe. Power is transmitted through an Li150 gearbox fitted into GP200 casings, with 16/46 gearing and a five-plate clutch. And with this level of performance, stopping power hasn't been forgotten either – it benefits from a hydraulic front brake setup.Better still, the scooter has covered only 178 miles since 2020. According to the previous owner, it has also had a recent service, full rolling-road dyno setup and new tyres, covering only around 50 miles since that work was completed. Paperwork relating to the work and setup is also included.Specification & Highlights1962 Lambretta LiClassic Italian Lambretta platformOld-school custom cutdown225cc Taffspeed TS1 performance setupTS1 performance cylinder35mm Mikuni flat-slide carburettorBoyesen reed-valve conversionFresco old-school expansion exhaustLi150 gearboxGP200 engine casings16/46 sprocket gearingFive-plate clutchHydraulic front braking systemFront disc brakePerformance-focused engine buildFull rolling-road dyno setup carried outRecently servicedNew tyres fittedOnly 178 miles covered since 2020Approximately 50 miles covered since latest service, dyno setup and new tyresPaperwork to support the work/setupDeep purple custom paintworkCut-down rear bodyworkExposed engine and mechanical componentsExtensive polished and chrome detailingChrome engine casingChrome rear suspension detailingChrome exhaustChrome front horncastingChrome wheel rimsCustom single seatExposed spare wheel mounted behind the legshieldWide-profile tyresExtremely distinctive custom appearanceBuilt as a fast, performance-oriented LambrettaNot One for the Purists – And That's Exactly the PointThis scooter is all about old-school custom Lambretta culture.Rather than trying to replicate a factory-original machine, it's been built to be something completely different: stripped back, aggressive and packed with performance upgrades. The exposed engine, polished components, purple paintwork, single seat and cutdown body immediately set it apart, but it's the mechanical specification that makes this one particularly interesting.A 225 TS1, 35mm Mikuni, reed-valve conversion and expansion pipe is a serious combination in a lightweight Lambretta. Add the upgraded clutch, carefully chosen gearing and hydraulic front brake and you've got a scooter designed to deliver a very different experience from a standard Li.Could This Be Sitting in Your Garage? For anyone into modified Lambrettas, old-school scooter culture or simply unusual performance machines, this is an opportunity to win something you won't see every day.A build like this takes considerable time, parts and expertise to put together – and this one has already had the important rolling-road setup and servicing work carried out.One ticket could put the keys to this wild 225cc Lambretta in your hand.Get your entries in before the competition closes – this is one seriously cool old-school cutdown that's ready for its next owner.
