BOTB vs Elite Competitions: Which UK Operator Has Better Odds?
Two of the biggest names in UK prize competitions, two very different operating models. Here is how BOTB and Elite Competitions compare on the things that actually matter to entrants.
The companies
Best of the Best (BOTB) is the elder statesman of the UK dream-car competition market, and an AIM-listed public company on the London Stock Exchange. Their flagship draws are weekly Dream Car competitions plus lifestyle prizes (cash, watches, holidays).
Elite Competitions is a private operator that has scaled fast on the back of regular live Facebook draws and a wide range of vehicle, cash, and tech prizes. Different ownership, different format, similar legitimacy footing.
Where they differ
- Ticket caps. BOTB historically uses very large ticket pools on flagship cars. Elite tends to run more, smaller draws with tighter caps. Smaller cap = better individual win odds at the same entry price.
- Skill question. BOTB's long-running "spot the ball" question is the textbook UK skill element. Elite uses standard multiple-choice skill questions.
- Draw cadence. BOTB's headline draws are weekly. Elite runs a constant rolling calendar with multiple draws ending most days.
Who actually has better odds?
"Better odds" depends entirely on the specific draw, not the operator. The same operator can run a fantastic-value draw one week and a mediocre one the next. That is exactly why we built the Value Ratio — to compare every individual draw on a like-for-like basis instead of arguing about brand reputations.
Open the live aggregator and sort by Value Ratio (lowest first). On any given day you will see draws from both operators in the top 10 — and plenty of draws from both that are not worth your money.
